OU lecturer to present at costume design symposium
Department of Music, Theatre and Dance Special Lecturer Leslie Littell will share her experience in mentoring students at the 2008 Costume Society of America Symposium in New Orleans in May.
Littell, a costume designer, has developed a Power Point presentation to show how students in Oakland University's Theatre program learn the basis of costume design. As part of their progress from working with faculty and higher level students to independently designing a main stage show, students are also building a portfolio of work that will assist them after they graduate.
In addition to her work in the OU Costume Shop, Littell runs Ashbridge Costume Studio. She is a member of the Costume Society of America and the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers. She will be among the faculty participating in the 2008 Theatre Arts Workshops, featuring sessions in Sewing with Stretch, Costuming for Dance, Stage Management and Stage Movement.
