March 2015 Newsletter: Mac-OU INC Happenings: "Mac-OU INC and Macomb County: 2015 DiSciTech Award Winners"

Corp! Magazine, an online and print business publication, honors Michigan companies that lead the way in digital, science and technology innovation. The 2015 DiSciTech Awards technology-category recipients included the Macomb-OU INCubator, for its technology-advancement initiatives, and the Macomb County Information Technology department, for its role in creating the county’s Community and Technology Center (COMTEC).

Macomb-OU INCubator client companies span a wide range of technology, including alternative energy, advanced electronics and controls, software, defense, life sciences and robotics. These companies have all completed extensive research and development for their products and Mac-OU INC is assisting in the commercialization.

COMTEC combines the operations of four key county agencies in one location. The Sheriff’s Office dispatchers, Department of Roads, Emergency Management and Information Technology all are housed in the structure, located along Groesbeck Highway near Harrington in Mount Clemens. Perhaps its best known, most photographed feature is a 20-by-50 foot video wall that beams lives images from some 90 cameras scattered throughout Macomb County. For more information on COMTEC, visit comtec.macombgov.org.

Corp!, in print and online, is a B-to-B publication that features success stories, best practices and strategies that CEOs, business owners, executives and managers will find useful and relevant. They pride themselves on not making editorial decisions based on how much coverage a story has received in other media, or how it ties into the latest scandal in the business world. Corp! is dedicated to raising the profile of business in the local communities and driving it forward. For more information, visit CorpMagazine.com.

Comparable to Corp!, the Macomb-OU INCubator is committed to supporting the local business community by creating customized success strategies for startup and emerging companies. Receiving a Corp! Magazine technology award exemplified Mac-OU INC’s mission. Similarly, small businesses are encouraged to apply for awards that will recognize their own mission statements.
