March 2015 Newsletter: Q&A with Mac-OU INC Staff: "Andrea LaBudie, Marketing & Communications Intern"
"I began my position as the Marketing and Communications Intern in fall of 2015 and this is definitely not your typical coffee-grabbing internship! I assist the Marketing and Communications Manager, Joan Carleton. I research new social media strategies, record statistics and monitor our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages. I also write blog posts for our WordPress site. Beyond social media, I assist with events, marketing materials, and visual content," Andrea LaBudie, Mac-OU INC's Marketing & Communications Intern, said.
“Mac-OU INC has allowed me to explore my knack for communication, journalism, and public relations. Working as the marketing and communications intern at a business incubator, I am inspired each and every day by a motivational entrepreneur environment. It’s amazing to be surrounded with exciting people in the office and at events. I could not have found a better opportunity to learn and gain professional experience.”

Summer Plans: I will be kicking off this summer with my graduation from Oakland University in May. I will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, a communication minor and a public relations minor. I'm looking forward to finding my next career as a public relations assistant, marketing and events coordinator, or similar position over the summer. My Mac-OU INC internship has broadened my scope of professional opportunities. I hope to use the networking opportunities provided to me through Mac-OU INC and online sources, such as LinkedIn, to find my first full-time professional position. I've learned from my experience with social media platforms that you can never have too many connections!
