February 2015 Newsletter: Q&A with Staff at Velocity Center: "Nicole Wells Stallworth, Assistant Vice President, Office of Government & Community Relations, Oakland University"

"I began my position as Assistant Vice President for Government & Community Relations late fall of 2015. The Office of Government & Community Relations at Oakland University exists to advocate for and promote the important role of OU to the future of our region, state, nation and world. Enhancing awareness among state, county, local and federal government officials as well as various communities and organizations are crucial to this mission. Serving in this capacity allows me to lead grassroots advocacy and community relations initiatives on behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of Oakland University," said Nicole Wells Stallworth.

"Service and value to the community, regional collaboration, advocacy for higher education, and civic engagement at the local level are each areas of focus within my current role. With these ideas in mind, I look to broaden Oakland University's reach, awareness and contributions with tri-county government officials, community and association leaders. I will be sharing the message that Oakland University is here to serve the community in which it exists, to be a collaborative community partner, and to add value to the quality of life for everyone involved through its research, educational programs, and advocacy related activities."
