Discount tickets available for DSO performace of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is offering the Oakland University campus community discounted tickets for two performances of Tchaikovsky’s Powerful Violin Concerto featuring Julian Rachlin and his 1704 Stradivarius.
Set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, and 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, at Orchestra Hall in Detroit, these concerts will welcome Leonard Slatkin as conductor and will also include a free, pre-concert recital of Tchaikovsky arias and songs by vocal students from the University
of Michigan.
While regular ticket prices for main floor seating are $50, Oakland University students, faculty, staff and family and friends can purchase tickets for $20. The offer is available online only, no phone orders accepted, and the deadline for ticket purchases is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25. It does not apply to previously purchased tickets.
To order tickets, visit dso.org, click on Feb. 26 or FEB. 27 in the performance calendar and click on “Buy Tickets.” Enter the promo code “RACHLIN” and click on “Apply.” Then select seats, ensure the applied ticket price is correct and check out.
