DSO offering OU community discount tickets for Cameron Carpenter
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is offering the Oakland University campus community discounted tickets for acclaimed organist Cameron Carpenter's Monday, Feb. 23, performance featuring the International Touring Organ.
Set for 7:30 p.m. at Orchestra Hall in Detroit, the concert will feature an artist that a Los Angeles Times reviewer describes as “Carpenter is one of the rare musicians who changes the game of his instrument. He is a smasher of cultural and classical music taboos. He is technically the most accomplished organist I have ever witnessed … And, most important of all, the most musical.”
While regular ticket prices for main floor seating are $25, Oakland University students, faculty, staff and family and friends can purchase tickets for $15. The offer is available online only, no phone orders accepted, and the deadline for ticket purchases is 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22. It does not apply to previously purchased tickets.
To order tickets, visit dso.org, click on Feb. 23 in the performance calendar and click on “Buy Tickets.” Enter the promo code “CORPEXPRESS” and click on “Apply.” Then select seats, ensure the applied ticket price is correct and check out.
