D-NewTech Events Amass Success

OU INC hosted their first D-NewTech event on Wednesday, October 1. The event was held at OU INC and included several of Michigan’s leading entrepreneurs pitching their ideas. As a business incubator, OU INC was the proper setting for such an event.

D-NewTech gathers Detroit and SE Michigan entrepreneurs for monthly meetup events that provide resources and networking opportunities. Members of the D-NewTech group have access to events, pitch opportunities, and access to a large knowledge database from other entrepreneurs. The main D-NewTech events include a guest speaker, who has profound entrepreneur experience, and 4-5 startup companies who present a five minute pitch and participate in a live five minute Q & A.

OU INC Executive Director Amy Butler was invited to be the guest speaker on October 1 because of her expert knowledge and extensive experience with entrepreneur companies. Oakland County Small Business Representative Catherine Abad shared some of the resources available to assist entrepreneurs. She joined Ms. Butler and Julie Gustafson, Executive Director at Mac-OU Inc., as judges for the pitch competition. Startup companies who presented included Barry McDonald of Try2See, Sagor Bhuiyan of Involve, Norman T. Kutemperor of Scientel, Carmine Tenaglia of TCOM TDM, and Will Smith of Motors City Motor. Combining with the dynamic presenters were opportunities for entrepreneurs to network.

D-NewTech has continued to prove to be a valuable resource for Michigan entrepreneurs. As they continue their mission to provide resources and networking opportunities for Michigan startup companies, event and member enrollment will continue to skyrocket.
