Oakland wins 2014 Horizon League Volleyball Championship
The Golden Grizzlies advance to their first-ever NCAA Volleyball Tournament in program history. First Round action will begin Friday, Dec. 5.
A total team effort which included 14 kills by Jessica Dood, 43 assists by Ciara Schultz and 11 kills with three blocks by Sammy Condon powered Oakland volleyball to a four-set win over Milwaukee Saturday afternoon to win the 2014 Horizon League Volleyball Championship.

After dropping the first set 25-22, Oakland came back with three consecutive wins in the following three sets to defeat the Panthers, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 26-24. Oakland improves to 22-9 with their 10th consecutive victory, while Milwaukee finishes their season at 17-14 overall.
"This is obviously a huge moment for all of us," said Oakland head coach Rob Beam. "I'm really proud of this particular team for the way they've conducted themselves and the way they've grown."
Condon was named tournament MVP after aiding Oakland in both matches on the weekend, joining Dood and Schultz in representing the Golden Grizzlies on the all-tournament squad.
The NCAA Volleyball Tournament selection show is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 30 at 8:30 p.m. and will be aired live on ESPNU. NCAA First Round action will begin Friday, Dec. 5.
