Academically Admitted ESL Students who are currently enrolled in advanced level ESL courses may register to take the TOEFL ITP on

7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
This test is available to Oakland University ESL students only. (You will be excused from any ESL course(s) you are scheduled to attend during this time.)
Students who are failing any ESL courses at Oakland University will not be allowed to take the test.
Students who are currently failing any classes due to lack of attendance may not take the test.
Seating is limited to 50 students.
This is for advanced level students only.
Students will receive a copy of their scores when available.
A passing score on the TOEFL ITP is a 550 (same scoring criteria as the TOEFL PBT)
This is an institutional TOEFL test and scores cannot be submitted to other universities or programs to prove English proficiency.
Upon completion of advanced ESL courses with a 2.5 or higher, students’ English Proficiency will be evaluated using the Institutional TOEFL to determine whether additional ESL coursework is necessary to achieve English Proficiency. (A satisfactory score is a 550 or higher.)
