Legacy and Legacy Transfer Scholarships
Incoming freshmen and transfer students who will begin at OU in the fall of 2015 may be eligible to receive a Legacy or Legacy Transfer renewable award. The Legacy Award is $12,000 ($3000 per year for up to four consecutive years) and the Legacy Transfer Award is $6000 ($3000 per year for up to two consecutive years).
Only Legacy students are eligible to apply for these awards. Legacies are defined as students whose parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt or uncle received a degree or academic certificate from Oakland University. The application deadline for the Legacy Award is Monday, January 5, 2015, while the application deadline for the Legacy Transfer Award is Monday, March 2, 2015.
Is a member of your Legacy family graduating in December? The OUAA is hosting a special seating area reserved exclusively for Legacy families. Let us know if you’d like to take advantage of reserved seating in the Legacy section by having your graduating student contact Erin Sudrovech, associate director of alumni engagement, at sudrovec@oakland.edu.
