Faculty and staff fund their passion by giving back to Oakland University

Faculty and staff donate $57,800 on the first day of the All-University Fund Drive (AUFD). The drive will run through Dec. 12 and aims to raise more than last year's $363,000 total for student scholarships and research.
Day in and day out, Oakland University faculty and staff work passionately to provide an exceptional experience for more than 20,000 students.

And each year, members of the OU community go above and beyond by giving to the All-University Fund Drive (AUFD). Faculty and staff are able to fund their passion at Oakland by directing gifts to the program of their choice, or make a gift to the area of greatest need: the OU Fund. New this year, donors can now create a named scholarship with a contribution starting at just $1,000.

The 2014 fund drive kicked off on Monday, Sept. 29 with $57,800 in contributions from 88 faculty and staff donors. The drive will run through December 12, aiming to raise more than last year’s $363,000 total.

OU President George W. Hynd will match every faculty and staff member gift by 50 percent up to $2,500.

“Your gift matters to Oakland students, and I want it to help make it matter all the more,” said Hynd.

For more information regarding the AUFD, or how to make a gift, visit the AUFD website at isupportOU.com/AUFD or contact Annual Giving at (248) 364-4504 or giving@oakland.edu.

Through generous donations by OU faculty and staff, the All-University Fund Drive aims to raise more than last year's $363,000 total in support of student scholarships and research.
