Majoring in Communication with a Minor in Advertising,
Desirae Eck took the opportunity for an advantageous internship at OU INC.
Hired in as the Event Planning and Business Development Intern, Eck takes on a
multitude of responsibilities. Responsible for facilitating and planning
events, maintaining and planning much of the schedule of the Executive
Director, and tracking and updating the outreach to clients and the use of OU
INC facilities within the fiscal year.
Involved in many other facets of campus life, Eck is also
the Secretary of Phi Sigma Sigma: Delta Theta Chapter, Vice President of
Catholic Student Society, and a member of Students for Life at OU. The oldest
of five children, Eck enjoys spending time with her family and friends,
running, skiing, and shopping.
Being involved in so many aspects of campus life, Eck’s
advice to everyone is to “Embrace all experiences in life with a positive
attitude; they are what shape you and all you to create yourself.” With such a
dynamic and constantly changing business atmosphere at OU INC, Eck’s advice
will certainly help her fellow co-workers.
In the future, Eck sees herself acquiring a career as a
sales representative after her graduation in December 2015. Eck hopes that the
position will be for a company in the area of pharmaceutical sales. With her
strong determination and positive outlook on life, Eck will surely be
successful in her future endeavors.
