OU INC Awarded BAF Funding To Assist Munetrix

The Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC) has recently awarded OU INC $34,000 from the Business Accelerator Fund (BAF) to assist Auburn Hills-based Munetrix. The funding will assist Munetrix in conducting a Brand and Market Plan/Analysis, developing an Intellectual Property (IP) plan, and creating a detailed, investor focused presentation and support materials to support the Pre-Seed and Series A process.

Founded by Buzz Brown (a finance major and database developer) and Bob Kittle (a turn- around consultant and city councilman) Munetrix has seen tremendous growth since launching in 2011. Munetrix, is a comprehensive suite of financial reporting, management and forecasting tools designed specifically to meet the needs of local units of government and schools. Recognizing and understanding the need for these institutions to anticipate, study, predict and report on fiscal results, this web-based management tool helps public institutions better understand and communicate their financials with stakeholders, and plan using predictive analysis.

"The BAF grant program is a very valuable tool for emerging companies like Munetrix. It gives us the wherewithal to address important projects that we would otherwise not have the funds or resources to support.” said Bob Kittle “We value the BAF grant highly as one of the viable ways we can build company strength and get to the next level. All of us at Munetrix appreciate the help we receive from OU INC and this great program." Executive Director of OU INC Amy Butler was thrilled to hear of Munetrix’s great accomplishment. “When a client obtains funding it is always good news. For a client to receive their third BAF fund, it is outstanding” said Butler “The accomplishments that Munetrix has earned shows you just how innovative and ambitious they are. They are a tremendous company that has a bright future waiting for them.”

Munetrix offers governments and schools with a variety of tools including benchmarking, performance dashboards, key performance indicators, social network for public sector collaborators, and comparison platform for trend analysis. Subscribers can build long-term forecasts and run scenarios in a fraction of the time over legacy systems. For Munetrix the goal is simple: to simplify the complicated.

The BAF is a 21st Century Jobs Fund Program managed by the MI-SBDC in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Michigan’s network of business accelerators. BAF awards are distributed by MI-SBDC to OU INC and other business accelerators to assist companies commercializing advanced technologies.
