Oakland University welcomes two new Board of Trustees members

  
Melissa Stolicker and W. David Tull join the Oakland University Board of Trustees.
At its August meeting, the Oakland University Board of Trustees welcomed two new board appointees, Melissa Stolicker of Haslett, and W. David Tull, of Birmingham.

The new appointees will serve eight-year terms, expiring in August 2022.

"Oakland University and its Board of Trustees are pleased to welcome two new trustees with outstanding professional credentials, experience and skill sets," said Mark E. Schlussel, newly-appointed chair of the Oakland University Board of Trustees.

"David offers the Board perspective and counsel on institutional financial management and planning. Melissa will make valuable contributions to Board governance, particularly when it comes to ensuring that proper controls keep Oakland among the most respected universities in Michigan."

Ms. Stolicker replaces Jayprakash Shah and Mr. Tull replaces Monica Emerson, both of whom served with distinction on the Oakland University Board.

Melissa A. Stolicker is Executive Vice President and Chief Internal Auditor of GreenStone Farm Credit Services. She designs, plans, implements and monitors an all-inclusive audit program for GreenStone. She is also a certified public accountant. Stolicker graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  She has served on the audit committee of the Capital Region Community Foundation and has been a volunteer coach for youth athletics for the past 10 years. She is an active member of the American Institute of CPA’s, Michigan Association of CPAs, and The Institute for Internal Auditors. 

W. David Tull is Chairman, CEO and founder of Crestmark Bank. His career in banking spans more than 40 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, as well as a banking degree from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. He has served on a multitude of civic and corporate boards including The Crown Group, Michigan National Bank, Independence One Mutual Funds, Marquette Venture Capital Advisory Board, Detroit Historical Society, and the Music Hall Center for Performing Arts.

About the Oakland University Board of Trustees:
Oakland University is governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees appointed by the governor to serve eight-year terms. The board provides general supervision of the university, including control and direction of all expenditures from the institution's funds. The board also appoints the university president, as well as the secretary to the board and treasurer.
