Michael Wadsworth joins OU as assistant dean of students

Michael Wadsworth has been named assistant dean of students in Oakland University’s Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

With more than a decade of experience in student affairs, Wadsworth most recently served as director for Residential Life at Albion College. He has also served in leadership roles at the University of Maryland, University of Southern Mississippi, Old Dominion University and West Virginia Wesleyan College.

A native of Durand, Michigan, Wadsworth holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Oakland University and a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Kent State University.

“I am excited about Michael’s return to campus, this time in a professional capacity,” said Glenn McIntosh, interim vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “He has a very distinguished career of effective engagement with students that will assist him in addressing an array of student behaviors.”

In his position as assistant dean of students, Wadsworth will handle student conduct matters and serve as OU’s deputy Title IX coordinator, working to ensure University compliance with federal law prohibiting discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities.
