Re: IOM Report on GME
Many of your organizations have been approached by the media, local legislators, and other groups seeking comments on the recently-released Institute of Medicine (IOM) report regarding GME governance and financing. Feel free to use the attached key points as you work with your communications team and others to shape a response.
Additionally, you’ll find a variety of resources describing what academic medicine is doing to improve GME at www.aamc.org/improvinggme. We encourage you to share the information.
We hope to have a recording of the recent webinar/slides hosted by Drs. Kirch and Grover posted sometime next week. We’ll share a link with all of you as soon as it’s available.
