Campus commuters encouraged to note lane, lot and walk closures

Various construction activities across campus are prompting the need for a number of temporary adjustments to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Closure of Pioneer Drive
Pioneer Drive will be closed between the P-35 lot and the P-29 parking structure on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. Campus commuters looking to get access to Pawley, Varner and Elliott halls are encouraged to use Pioneer Drive from the north side of campus and enter the P-36 lot. Those utilizing Child Care services at Lowry Center will be allowed access to the facility's drop off and pick-up area.

Sidewalk rerouting
New sidewalks between Kresge Library and Oakland Center will be opened to pedestrian traffic on Friday, July 18th. In turn, the sidewalk between the Recreation and Athletics Center and the Oakland Center will be closed between Monday, July 21, through Monday, Aug. 4.

Parking lot closure
The P-5 parking lot will be closed for repairs and top coating beginning at 3:30 p.m on Friday, July 18, and continuing through Monday, July 28. The closure will include all new parking around the new student housing complex, Oak View Hall. Campus community members accustomed to using the P-5 lot are advised that cars left there after the closure takes effect will be towed at the owners expense.
