June 2014 Newsletter: Client News: "Microcide Receives Prestigious Book-Deal Request"
The Senior Commissioning Editor of Blakell-Wiley Publications recently contacted John Lopes, President of Microcide, to serve as author or editor for a book within the Institute of Food Technologies (IFT) Press series.
This request is a result of John’s recent published paper in the Journal of Food Science, thereby proving himself as a subject matter expert. The IFT Press series is a joint venture between IFT and Wiley-Blackwell, reflecting their mission of the advancement of the science of food contributing to healthier people everywhere. IFT Press books serve as leading-edge handbooks for industrial application and reference as well as essential texts for academic programs.
Microcide Inc. is a Michigan-based technology company, dedicated to the research, development and commercialization of antimicrobial products for households, personal care, health care and food industries. These patented no-rinse surface-sanitizing products are non-toxic, environmentally friendly, EPA and USDA approved, and effective against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. In addition, they can replace presently available carcinogens generating chlorinated, toxic and/or free radical-producing oxidizing agents, as well as cholinesterase-inhibiting quaternary ammonium-based products.
Microcide products include non-alcoholic mouthwash, mouthwash for kids, fruit and vegetable sanitizers, and sanitizing Triclosan-free liquid hand, and sydnet bar, soaps. Microcide has research collaboration on USDA and NASA projects at Ohio State and Iowa State Universities, was nominated for the Presidential GREEN Chemistry Award by the EPA in 2005, and both the US NAVY and NASA have selected Microcide sanitizing products.
