Business students, org recognized for campus leadership

OU’s Center for Student Activities and Office of Alumni Engagement recognized outstanding student and Greek organizations, club sports, student leaders, advisers, and graduating seniors at the 2014 Student Activities and Leadership Awards Night in April.

Outstanding Student Leader of the Year: Antonio Morado

Nomination excerpts:
“Antonio worked tirelessly to bring the TEDx conference to his fellow students at OU.  He is innovative, flexible and dedicated.  He manages himself professionally while on a committee with OU faculty and then can navigate multiple student boards while seeking funding.”

 

“Antonio has gone above and beyond my expectations to ensure  TEDx OU is a successful event … He has continuously exhibited leadership skills, initiative, and unbelievable contribution of his time throughout the planning process. We all should be proud that he will soon be an OU graduate.”

 

SAFAC Outstanding Officer of the Year: Phillip Johnson: Student Activities Funding Board

Nomination excerpts:
“Phillip has gone above and beyond the exceptionally demanding duties of managing the funding board requests to implement more trainings, resources, and board accessibility all while making sure the budget requests are handled fairly and quickly. Accomplishments this past year include, YouTube training videos, board office hours, online chat service, making SAFB and independent SAFAC org, revamping the SAFB website, provided STC with new equipment, effective equipment inventory management blueprint, work with Chartwells to provide better service and more affordable prices, helping orgs to better fundraise, and evaluating the by-laws and constitution at the same time empowering members of the board to be effective participants in the organization which previously were disengaged.”

 

“Phillip … has gone out of his way to show me the ropes and explain things to me to (help our group) grow.  He even came once to my group and hung out and gave us some pointers on upcoming events.”

 

“Phillip made SAFB have a powerful impact of campus. SAFB's presence was known campus wide. He did an amazing job this year as SAFB Chairman.”

 

Student Activities Funding Board's Most Professional Student Organization: Society for Applied Investing and Financial Education in recognition of its professional events, meetings and allocation hearings.
