Student-designed T-shirts raise funds for Baldwin Center

Oakland University students are partnering with the Live Love Michigan Project’s “Hold on to Hope” campaign to raise funds for the Baldwin Center in Pontiac. During the two-week campaign – which runs from Monday, March 31 through Tuesday, April 15 – supporters can purchase custom designed T-shirts at holdontohope.org/collections/baldwin-center, with 50 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Baldwin Center.  The shirts are themed after the Baldwin Center.

The Hold on to Hope fundraiser is coordinated through Professor Charles Rinehart’s Wellness and Health Promotion 380 course, which examines persuasion and marketing in health.

“The Baldwin Center’s mission to feed, clothe, educate and empower the community it serves makes it valuable to the wellness mission of our students,” said Rinehart. “Linking the Baldwin Center with another Michigan-based organization to create awareness allows our students to apply the theories they’ve learned about health promotion and put them into practice.”

The Hold on to Hope campaign teams with nonprofit and charitable groups in Michigan to design apparel and accessories contoured to each organization. The Baldwin Center is a human services agency that has served the city of Pontiac since 1981. The center provides resources to the underserved, including food, shelter, clothing, education and recreation programs.
