March 2014 Newsletter: Client Company Spotlight: "Coliant Corporation Sought Out by Industry Leader Harley Davidson"

Coliant Corporation, client company of the Macomb-OU INCubator, recently received a purchase order from industry-leader Harley Davidson for their newly-developed personal climate-control technology.

Tim Carrithers, editor of Motocyclist Magazine, gave this technology five out of five stars. He described it as “the best high-tech personal heat source for anything short of space travel.” It also received a 10 out of 10 rating from Adventure Bike Rider, the only jacket of those reviewed to receive a perfect score.

“Riding with this Powerlet jacket in use was nothing short of luxury. Each of the other options on test here is good in its own right, but the RapidFire is simply better,” said Paul Jennison, Gear’s Editor at the United Kingdom’s Adventure Bike Rider.

These patent-pending climate-control systems, known to Coliant as Microclimate Technology,™ are in the continuous improvement process at Coliant. These systems now utilize Android and Apple smartphone technology, as Coliant has recently secured its MFI license with Apple and is now an approved Apple hardware provider. Coliant also now has the ability to receive purchase orders from Harley via the EDI system.

Harley Davidson, a leader in motorcycle manufacturing, sought out Coliant for their Smart Clothing™ system technology to give Harley Davidson motorcycle riders warmth while on the road. Coliant consistently markets to industry professionals through publications and trade shows, now proving the payoff is not only through awards they’ve received in the United States and Europe.

Coliant’s first deliveries to Harley Davidson are due mid-November, with January 2015 as the expected launch date for Harley Davidson.

Based in Warren, MI, Coliant Corporation was founded in 2004. Coliant’s unique electrical components improve the comfort, convenience and safety for riders of open-cabin vehicles. Although focused initially on the motorcycle market, its Powerlet, Atomic Skin and Luggage Electrix product lines have applications in numerous consumer, commercial and military markets. Coliant designs, manufactures and distributes rugged electrical accessories that are intuitive and universal adaptive. Coliant has multiple patents and sold products in 67 countries.
