Michigan Career Education and Employer Alliance recognizes college students, career educators and employers with five awards. College students and recent graduates can enter an essay in one of two areas, both which offer a $400 cash prize to the selected winners.All submissions are due April 5.
The Carol Quandt Student Essay Contest is available to all currently enrolled students who are participating in or have completed a co-op/internship assignment through an institution of higher education in Michigan, or have completed a co-op/internship with an employer located in Michigan. An essay of 1,500 to 2,500 words focusing on what recommendations the participants have for their Career Services office and faculty to better prepare future interns.
The New Graduate Essay contest is available to students who have graduated (or will graduate) from a Michigan college/university between May 2013 and May 2014. Student/graduates must have utilized the resources offered through the office of Career Services at his/her college/university. An essay of 1,500 to 2,500 words should address this year’s topic: How did you utilize the services offered through your college/university’s Career Services office as well as faculty to help you secure a professional position and get to where you are today?
