Agencies to seek student volunteers at upcoming fair

More than 30 nonprofit organizations will visit Oakland University from 11 m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, looking for volunteers. The event, which will welcome students and faculty free of charge, will be held in in the Fireside Lounge in Oakland Center.

“We interviewed students from Oakland and they kept asking for opportunities to learn more about local non-profits and how and where to volunteer, said Cortney Scott, a graduate assistant in Oakland’s Center for Student Activities and Leadership Development.

“We really hope the students will engage with different non-profits to see how they can help within our community.”
