GM selected MBA alumnus to receive one of eight JD Powers Initial Quality awards

Instrument Design Release Engineer Francesca Daniel, MBA ’08, was honored to be among a small group of employees selected to represent General Motors by accepting one of the company’s eight J.D. Powers Initial Quality awards this summer.

"I'm so proud of my company,” she says on GM's quality web page. “This is the result of what we do every day and proves to the rest of the world that we're here to stay."

Daniel was invited by her leadership to receive the awards on behalf of all GM employees. Those selected shared the stage with members of GM’s senior leadership team CEO Dan Akerson and Vice President, Quality Alicia Boler-Davis.

The company recognized this honor with an ad featuring the employees in the many major newspapers – including New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today – as well as banners in the Renaissance Center and downtown Detroit. The employees are also featured on GM’s quality web site.

“I am so proud of General Motors and all the employees that made this possible. And, I am so incredibly honored to have the opportunity to represent my peers,” Daniel says. “I am so thankful to have educators like (OU’s Frank Cardimen) in my life who inspired me to be best I can be!”
