"One hundred and nineteen years old this spring, the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters has a stated mission to "disseminate research and diffuse knowledge." The Michigan Academy of Science was founded by a small group of scientists from the public universities and private colleges of Michigan." (MASAL)

"We have major, world-class research going on here at OU," Dean Harper noted, "from that at undergraduate level right the way through to that at faculty level. Letting colleagues in Michigan know about this work is a strategic way to increase research dissemination and an understanding of the considerable significance of Oakland University's work - in our many fields of endeavor."
