Graham Health Center is now an HAP Urgent Care provider
Oakland University is pleased to announce that students, faculty and staff who carry HAP health insurance plans can now use those plans to cover urgent care services at Graham Health Center. Both HAP and Priority Health now provide this benefit on campus.
“Urgent care services at GHC will save our campus community members both time and parking hassles,” said Nancy Jansen, Graham Health Center director.
“We’re located just north of Wilson Hall and across from the Human Health Building, which means we’re just a short walk away for just about everyone on campus. We’re glad to offer this new convenience, because we know it will make staying healthy easier for a lot of people in the university community.”
Medical treatments for non-life threatening conditions that are covered as a result of Graham’s upgraded status to a HAP urgent care provider include:
earaches;
minor cuts, burns, sprains and strains;
rashes and skin infections;
colds, coughs and sore throats, and;
flu and fevers.
Preventive health care services, such as immunizations and annual physicals, are not covered as part of urgent care benefits. For all university health care benefit plans, such services are covered only when provided by the policy holder’s primary care physician.
Campus community members taking advantage of urgent care services at GHC should be aware that co-pays and deductibles apply. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers same-day or next-day appointments.
