Students must apply by Sept. 27 for December graduation
Oakland University students preparing to complete their degrees during the Fall 2013 semester must apply for graduation by Friday, Sept. 27.
Online applications are available for undergraduate and graduate students at oakland.edu/graduate. There are no fees to apply for graduation.
Prior to applying, students should meet with their academic advisor to confirm that all requirements are met. Students may also review their degree evaluation by logging into SAIL and selecting “Progress to Degree.”
Once the Office of the Registrar receives the application, a formal degree audit will be conducted.
Students planning to participate in the Saturday, Dec. 14, commencement ceremony must attend the fall graduation fair. The fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms and from 10 a.m. to 6 p .m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Barnes and Noble Bookstore located in the lower level of the Oakland Center.
At the graduation fair, students will learn about the commencement ceremony and pick up their guest tickets. All guests are required to have a ticket, and tickets are only available at the graduation fair. Students will also have the opportunity to purchase regalia, class rings and diploma frames at the fair.
Commencement ceremonies for August and December graduates will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Athletic O’rena.
The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Integrative Studies and School of Engineering will attend the morning ceremony. The later ceremony will be for graduates of the School of Business Administration, Education and Human Services, Health Sciences and Nursing.
All doctoral and masters graduates will attend a 1 p.m. ceremony.
Undergraduates eligible to receive university honors (GPA of 3.6 or above) and/or school or departmental honors will receive their honor cords at the registration table on the day of the ceremony.
