BELKI Filtration LLC, the portal to the Americas for the parent company BELKI Technik ApS, established a tenant client relationship with OU INC during this past spring. Hailing from Denmark, the global leader in liquid filtration has chosen to lay roots in the United States by establishing a tenancy at OU INC in order to expand company reach. "By establishing a US entity, we hope to gain additional sales channels and strategic partners to grow the current levels of business in the North American market,” said Ivan Skjellerup, Owner and CEO. BELKI, who mostly serves the European market, has the innovative technology that provides customers with standalone, modular and centralized filtration systems where their components can be integrated to achieve the best filtration solution. “The regulatory climate continues to increase the pressure on manufacturing to eliminate waste and reduce the impact of their activity on the environment.” Skjellerup said. “Additionally, there is the constant pressure to reduce operating costs in a very competitive marketplace and manufacturers must find better technology for filtration of their process fluids that can extend the lifetime of process fluids, recovery of oil, solids removal, and in some cases, eliminate or reduce filtration media which reduces or eliminates disposal waste and associated costs." The location of BELKI’s tenant space allows Belki to educate guests about the growing prevalence of green technology in the automotive and manufacturing sector. During their stay at OU INC, BELKI Filtration LLC will be working closely with General Motors to develop filtration products for their new facility. “We are fortunate as a Pure Michigan SmartZone to be hosting an international client that holds similar visions of a greener automotive and manufacturing industry,” OU INC Executive Director, Amy Butler said. “BELKI will bring technology to existing companies in our region, helping them to grow, while building efficiency in the process.” BELKI has been family owned and operated since 1890, but began as a farm equipment manufacturer. In addition to serving the automotive industry, BELKI also generates fluid filtering systems to assist in the food industry, and any area that involves coolants, lubricants, and washing fluids for degreasing. BELKI also manufactures oil separating machines and central systems. Dave O’Ryan is a Managing Consultant for Advanced Technology & Marketing Group LLC and serves as a consultant for BELKI. He was instrumental in connecting BELKI with OU INC and Oakland University. “The opportunity to introduce such an influential international company to Oakland County is extremely rewarding,” O’Ryan said. “OU INC’s interaction with BELKI and their other international connections is proof of their vitality in effort to grow the economy.” BELKI currently gives frequent demonstrations from their technology space at OU INC for interested companies, stakeholders, and customers. "We are very excited to have on display, and the intention to run some key customer tests and trials at the facility over time", Skjellerup said. "For the short term, we hope to educate our targeted customers and some sales channel partners on how we design and build such unique products and can train them at this fine facility."
