Golden Grizzlies Fan Fest to celebrate Oakland athletics

Oakland University students, staff and supporters are invited to the Golden Grizzlies Fan Fest to mark the start of another exiting chapter in the history of Oakland Athletics. The event, set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July, 16, in the O’rena, will celebrate Oakland’s entrance to the Horizon League and look ahead to the much-anticipated 2013-14 season.

"The Fan Fest is a tremendous opportunity for Oakland Athletics to engage with the community," said Tracy Huth, director of Athletics.

"I believe an event like this during the summer allows our coaches, student athletes and staff to visit with everyone interested in our programs in a fun, relaxed and festive environment. As this is the first opportunity for us to announce our inaugural Horizon League schedules and speak with fans and friends face-to-face, we are excited about the Fan Fest."

Attendees will enjoy an evening of free food, prizes, discounted merchandise and autographs with coaches and athletes. Bursting with golden grizzly pride, OU mascots Grizz and Clawzz will be joined by OU's dance and cheer teams. Sports schedules will be announced and a raffle will give one lucky winner the opportunity to travel with the men’s or women’s basketball team. Fans can also purchase season tickets during the event.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information, visit ougrizzlies.com
