Local jazz artists to play at Meadow Brook Hall

Oakland University’s Meadow Brook Hall will host the annual Jazz in the Garden summer concert series, featuring three performances by Metro Detroit jazz musicians.

The series kicks off on Thursday, June 20, with a performance by local jazz favorite George “Sax” Benson. The Oakland University Jazz Quartet will play the second show on Thursday, July 18, and the series will wrap on Thursday, Aug. 22, with a solo performance by Rochester local Sheila Landis.

All concerts run from 7-10 p.m. Admission for each show is $30 and includes a tour of the main floor of The Hall and light hors d’oeuvres. A cash bar is available.

Throughout the year, Meadow Brook Hall hosts a variety of educational and cultural programs and special events. All proceeds from the programs support the preservation of The Hall.
