Calculated risk and risk management has been a way of life for Satish Dharwadkar, founder, president and portfolio manager of MangoTree Capital LLC. With only thirty dollars, one suit case and first semester's check to pursue a graduate degree, Satish boarded a one-way flight from tropical India to blizzard-struck Boston. In financial management, risk management is the pursuit of meaningful risk-adjusted returns for business, career or investments. In this seminar, whether you are an established business or a startup, you will gain new ideas for investments and retirement plans and how quantitative models can be used from everyday life to investments.

Launched in June 2012, MangoTree Capital's objective is to become your trusted financial advisory firm to make your financial life easier and more powerful. This unique firm provides disciplined portfolio management using quantitative models to help manage investments. Satish's major area of expertise is portfolio construction and management for individuals, corporations, endowments, defined contribution (401k), and defined benefit (pension) plans. While applying the principles of Post Modern Portfolio Theory and using analytical modeling, he applies solutions-oriented portfolio construction that is "brand neutral", which has become increasingly important to client experience.

Satish worked as a Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch from 2005 to 2012. Earlier, he was an independent trader, account manager, systems engineer and senior engineer at companies such as EDS, Parametric Technology and Ingersoll-Rand. His scientific programming skills in CFD and CAD contributed to the development of quantitative models for investments. Satish holds a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from MS University, Baroda, India.
