Butzel Long partner, Bill Eshelman, will provide practical information to those contracting the government as a prime or subcontractor. The presentation highlights include significant contrasts between commercial and federal acquisitions, the principal areas of federal contracting and related authority of federal personnel affecting each, common and potentially deadly areas of confusion and a few best practices.

Bill holds a specialized law degree (LLM) in Government Procurement from George Washington University in Washington D.C. In his more than four decades of legal practice, he has held responsible positions at the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and several major federal agencies with responsibilities that include the full range of federal contracting.

Most recently, Bill has been involved in major programs, as well as more routine subcontractor and supplier disputes. Thus, he has seen the industry from nearly all angles, which uniquely situates his perspective when advising clients. Bill frequently teaches in the areas of law, federal contracting and business. He currently holds the position of Lead Faculty/Area Chair for Business Law and Ethics for the University of Phoenix, where he also routinely teaches in the undergraduate business and MBA programs, where he is active in curriculum development.
