Sequestration Threatens Research Jobs
Falls Church, VA, March 7, 2013 – Society of Research Administrators International President Sandra M. Nordahl, CRA issued the following statement about the impact of sequestration:
“SRA International, representing over 4,000 research administrators internationally, is deeply concerned about the effects that sequestration is already having on its members. Sequestration has already resulted in job loss for research managers, loss of profit in technology commercialization and delivered huge blow to innovation.”
Sustained federal support of science and engineering research is critical to improving human welfare and society. Sequestration compromises the well-being of communities that are built on science and engineering research. Not only are current project stymied, future research and those that are dependent on it are at risk.
