Transformation of health care industry focus of May conference

By the very nature of its direct impact on life, death and personal medical concerns, the health care industry is unique. However, the changes facing the industry offer an opportunity to review and adapt successful business transformations to develop innovative care delivery and payment models that increase both physician decision making and operational efficiency, leading to quality health care that is both affordable and accessible.

The Physician’s Practice: Emerging Issues for Healthcare Providers forum focuses on the transformation through the lens of the patient-physician relationship, bringing industry practitioners and researchers together to present and discuss topics from patient, practice, care delivery and information technology support. The forum is Thursday May 9, from 8 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., followed by a networking reception and 9 a.m. to mid-afternoon on Friday, May 10, in Westin, 1500 Town Center, in Southfield.

Presented by the Center for Integrated Business Research and Education at Oakland University’s School of Business Administration in partnership with the Executive MBA in Health Care Management at Oakland University, Oakland County's Medical Main Street and St Joseph Mercy-Oakland, the forum offers attendees a look at innovations at the intersections of where these topics impact the physician practice.
