Join the Oakland University Alumni Association for the sixth annual Brooksie Way Half Marathon, 5K, and new for 2013, 10K race, held on the campus of Oakland University on Sunday, September 29.
The Brooksie Way Half Marathon is one of Oakland County’s premier quality-of-life events. County Executive L. Brooks Patterson began the Brooksie Way races to promote Oakland County and encourage people to become more physically active.
As a result of the partnership between the university and Brooksie Way planners, Oakland University alumni are eligible for a $5 discount off any race. Enter the code OU2013Al during the online check out process. Runners and walkers may register by going to www.thebrooksieway.com and clicking online registration.
OU alumni and family members are invited to stop by the OUAA hospitality tent on the grounds of the Meadow Brook Music Festival starting at 7:30 a.m.
The race weekend kicks off with the Health and Wellness Expo at the OU Recreation Center on Friday and Saturday, September 27-28. Runners can find information and products from vendors, including sports and nutrition retailers, athletic apparel, medical professionals and various training programs.
