OU-Macomb to host Let's Move Festival of Races on April 27
Registration is now underway to participate in the Oakland University-Macomb 2013 Let's Move Festival of Races on Saturday, April 27 in downtown Mount Clemens.
The festival was inspired by the national Let’s Move campaign, which was established by First Lady Michelle Obama in 2010 and is designed to fight childhood obesity by encouraging families to live healthy and active lifestyles.
Organized by the Macomb Health and Fitness Foundation, Inc, the festival will promote health and fitness with a 5K run/walk, a half-marathon and team relay half-marathon, and a one mile river walk and children’s one mile run.
A special $5 savings is offered to the first 250 OU students, faculty, staff and alumni that sign up for the 5K or half-marathon race. Simply visit active.com and type in the code “Grizzlies” to receive this offer.
Additionally, all OU students, staff, faculty and alumni are also invited to stop by the OU-Macomb tent on race day to pick up a free T-shirt. The festival kicks off with opening ceremonies at 8 a.m.
