MTV's The Buried Life asks OU "What do you want to do before you die?"

Tickets are now available for “The Buried Life - What do you want to do before you die?” presented by the Student Life Lecture Board of Oakland University.
On Thursday, March 7, the group of four friends from MTV’s hit reality TV show “The Buried Life” will share their story of dreams, determination and accomplishment with students, faculty and staff.
The Buried Life began in 2006 when Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood, Duncan Penn and Jonnie Penn set out on a journey to complete a list of 100 things to do before they die. They borrowed an old ’57 Dodge Coachman RV, bought a camera for $100 on eBay and set out on a two-week road trip. Along the way, they approached people to ask the question, “What do you want to do before you die?”
After pursuing their list for more than two years and building an online community of supporters, The Buried Life was contacted by MTV’s Howard T. Owens, who helped them accomplish goal #53: Make a TV show. The reality show followed the four friends on their journey and captured their experiences in real time with no manipulation. MTV’s only role was to record everything.
Since The Buried Life began, the group has not only accomplished their own goals, but they have helped many others accomplish theirs as well. They have a tremendous following of supporters from more than 220 countries worldwide. They recently checked another goal off their list when they released their New York Times best-selling book titled “What Do You Want To Do Before You Die?”
Miranda Divozzo, chair for the Student Life Lecture Board at Oakland University, also made a bucket list. Her number one goal was to bring The Buried Life to OU.
“The Buried Life has a very unique story that I think most of the students in our school will relate to,” said Divozzo. “I’m hoping this will send a message to our students to never stop trying.”
The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Banquet Rooms of the Oakland Center. Tickets are required. Tickets for The Buried Life are free and available to the OU community and general public. Tickets are available at the CSA service window in the lower level of the Oakland Center. For more information, call (248) 370-4407.
