Alumni and Community Engagement Welcome

Dear OU Alumni,

As the new director of Alumni and Community Engagement, it is my pleasure to greet you for the very first time! I look forward to serving the 93,145 alumni in a variety of ways, from welcoming you back to campus for events and activities to meeting and cultivating relationships with future alumni who are still on our campus.

Many of you were here a couple of weeks ago to attend the homecoming weekend festivities, which kicked off on Friday with a beautiful reception at the historic Meadow Brook Hall. I enjoyed hearing stories of your days at OU. Saturday, we celebrated together as our basketball team beat Western Illinois.

In a combined effort with the Office of Alumni and Community Engagement and the Oakland University Alumni Association, we are planning a variety of alumni programs, events and ways for you to get connected. I encourage you to visit OUalumni.com for more information.

You can be very proud of your alma mater. As this region's most rapidly growing campus, we are committed to student success while striving for academic excellence and engaging with the community. We're here to lend special expertise to the social, economic, governmental, business and educational issues that impact you. Our faculty, students and alumni collectively encourage and challenge each other to think in new ways and to approach difficult questions with creative solutions.

Please consider taking advantage of what OU has to offer - from academics and athletics to arts and culture. We want you to know that OU is your campus and we look forward to welcoming you back!

Sincerely,

Sue Helderop

Director of Alumni and Community Engagement
