The Grizzpose Masquerade Ball will take place on Saturday, Feb. 9.
For the second year in a row, the Residence Halls Association will host the three-day Grizzposé event, designed to support charity and offer entertainment and winter festivities on campus.
All events are free to Oakland University students. Community members are invited to attend each event with a donation of $5.
Proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network (http://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org) and will directly benefit the pediatric unit of the Troy Beaumont Hospital.
“Our goal is to raise enough money to give a child a complete make-over of his or her room and make them feel like they are at home, rather than stuck in a hospital bed,” said Grizzposé coordinator Katrina Bergel.
The kick-off event will take place in the Vandenberg lounge at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, following the RHA meeting. Food will be provided and all attendees are invited to create masks for Saturday’s masquerade ball.
Day two of Grizzposé will feature the Variety Show featuring OU students, along with a comedy performance by Tracy Ashley and a short presentation about the Children’s Miracle Network. This event will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms. Dinner will be provided and guests should dress in formal attire.
To end the festivities, RHA will host a Masquerade Ball. The ball will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, in the glass rooms of the cafeteria in West Vandenberg Hall. Guests should dress in black tie attire and masquerade masks are encouraged.
