It is time once again to begin accepting nominations for student awards! As a reminder, the department hosts three student awards:
The Laura Robinson Kuzniar Memorial Student Award honors student(s) exhibiting compassion and dedication to helping people and promoting a more just and fair society.
The Donald I. Warren Memorial Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement honors the student(s) exhibiting the greatest intellectual growth and commitment to academic excellence.
The Student Paper Award honors outstanding student-authored research paper(s) in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice.
This year, all award nominations will be submitted electronically using this web form. To submit nomination materials for yourself or someone else, please complete the form and upload the following documentation:
For the Kuzniar & Warren Awards: a one-page statement of support indicating why the nominee is deserving of the award.
For the Student Paper Award: a research paper meeting the following criteria:
Must have been prepared for a Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, or Criminal Justice class.
Must have been written in the previous calendar (not academic) year.
Must be a minimum of 5 pages in length.
Must be a research paper (i.e., uses scholarly sources, contains a "References" or "Works Cited" page).
The deadline for submission is Friday, February 1.
The award recipients will be recognized at the department awards reception held in the spring.
