Spring Telefund Kick Off!
Every spring, Oakland University organizes a telefund designed to put current students in contact with alumni and friends of the university. It gives students an opportunity to connect with alumni and share the exciting things happening across campus. The telefund also gives alumni a chance to verify their contact information to ensure they receive the Oakland University Magazine.
Since students and alumni alike are excited about OU’s growth, telefund callers will also update our alumni on the need for support for scholarships, academic programs and student life programs.
“Alumni involvement and financial support for the programs they care most about has a tremendous impact at Oakland” says Angie Schmucker, interim director of annual giving. “Not only does their gift add to what we can accomplish for students, it also motivates others to give when we have strong alumni support”. For more information on all the ways that annual support impacts OU, visit the annual giving website at oakland.edu/annualgiving.
Schmucker also noted that donors who give for three consecutive years automatically gain membership in The Oakland University Black & Gold Loyalty Society, regardless of the gift amount.
Students considering a career in communications, marketing, or philanthropy and who are eager to contribute to the growth of OU, should visit the OU Telefund website at oakland.edu/callers to find out more about a job with the spring telefund.
The Telefund Calling Center is located on campus in the archive section of Kresge Library. Work hours are evenings, Monday - Thursday and Sunday afternoon.
If you would like to show your support before receiving a call, please take a moment to visit our secure
online giving page to make your gift.
"Oakland is a place for academic and personal growth. There are so many difference resources available to those who need assistance. But whatever challenges they may be facing, students here are always focused on succeeding academically. They come to Oakland to receive an excellent education." - Allison Radell, French Club member
