Downtown Rochester to celebrate the holidays

Downtown Rochester brightens the holidays with family fun events. The Big, Bright Light Show will debut on November 26 during Lagniappe at 7 p.m. The buildings in downtown Rochester will be covered in more than 1.5 million points of glimmering holiday light, which will be lit nightly, November 26 through January 6 from 6 p.m. to midnight. Buildings of Main Street will be covered in big, bright lights beginning at the South Bridge and will extend all the way north to Romeo Road as well as buildings on Fourth Street from Walnut to Water Street.

The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce presents the 61st Annual Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade. The 2012 theme is Inside Santa’s Workshop. The parade will reflect every child’s image of that magical factory at the North Pole.

Held on Sunday, December 2, 2012, the parade begins at 2 p.m. at the corner of Tienken and Rochester Roads and continues south along Main Street to Third Street in Downtown Rochester.
