Avinash Konkani appointed to editorial board of IEEE journal

Avinash Konkani, a doctoral student and graduate assistant in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, as been appointed as a Junior Associate Editor and member of the Student Advisory Board of the IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine. As a Junior Associate Editor, he will be working with the Managing Editors and Editorial Board to do the editorial work of the journal. The Student Advisory Board has been formed with students from around the world on a competitive basis. Avinash will be describing his research ("The Reduction of Noise Levels in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Beaumont Hospital") at the Oakland University Beaumont Health System Biomedical Research Symposium, on Wednesday, November 14, in the Oakland Center Banquet Hall. Konkani's mentor is Prof. Barbara Oakley.
