Survey to gauge student interest, abilities in athletics programs
There’s little question that Oakland University’s athletic programs have been successful on the fields and courts, but the university is looking to assess another important aspect of their success.
Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 17, students will be asked how well OU’s athletic programs are meeting their interests and abilities.
The online survey, administered by the university’s Title IX Committee, contains straightforward questions that should take 10 minutes or less to complete. It can be found at oakland.edu/sportssurvey2012.
Students have until Friday, Nov. 9, to take part in the survey, and those who do will automatically be eligible to win a $100 gift card to the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on the lower level of Oakland Center or one of two month-long designated parking spots on campus.
“Extracurricular programming is a vital and important part of the campus life experience for any student, and we want to ensure that the opportunities we provide answer the needs of the very diverse student body we have at OU,” said Joi Cunningham, chair of the University’s Title IX Committee and director of the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives (OIII).
“Completing this survey will give students an opportunity to participate in another critical part of the collegiate experience, which is having their voice heard on matters that are important to them.”
Students wishing to learn more about athletic programs currently offered at Oakland are encouraged to visit the athletics site at ougrizzlies.com. For more information about the athletic abilities and interests survey, contact the OIII at (248) 370-3496.
Students can participate in a survey to demonstrate their views on how well OU’s athletic programs are meeting their interests and abilities.
