It’s time for Golden Grizzlies basketball!
The 2012-13 Golden Grizzlies basketball season is right around the corner. Don your black and gold and join fellow alumni, fans and friends for a number of exciting events.
The home opener is Friday, November 9 and will feature a special double header game! The women will face off against George Mason at 5 p.m. followed by the men versus Albion at 7:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to arrive will receive a free OU Fight Song t-shirt, courtesy of OU Athletics and the OUAA. Also, all alumni are invited to take advantage of a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE ticket opportunity in the Gold Zone. Just print the coupon here and redeem at the athletics ticket window on November 9. Tickets are good for both games.
The men will play at Western Michigan University on Saturday, December 1, and OUAA will host a west Michigan regional alumni gathering for alumni living on the west side of the state, as well as those alumni and friends who might travel to the game from Metro Detroit. Join us for a pre-game lunch at Bilbo’s Pizza on Stadium Drive at noon and then head to the game to cheer on the Golden Grizzlies for the 2 p.m. tip-off. The cost is $15 per person and includes a ticket to the game and lunch buffet. The first 75 people to register will receive a long-sleeved OU t-shirt. Register here by Monday, November 19.
On Wednesday, December 5, the women will face Michigan State University at home in the O’rena. Alumni, fans and friends will gather in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms beginning at 4:30 p.m. for a fajita buffet dinner prior to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person and includes a ticket to the game and dinner buffet. For fans who already have their game tickets, the cost is $10 per person. The first 50 people to register will receive a long-sleeved OU t-shirt. Register here by Monday, November 26.
Then, on Monday, December 17, the men will challenge former conference foe Valparaiso at home. A pre-game dinner gathering will begin at 5 p.m. in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms, followed by the game at 7 p.m. The pre-game event will feature a build-your-own burrito buffet as well as a special Oakland fleece for each attendee. The cost is $20 per person and includes a ticket to the game and dinner buffet. For fans who already have their game tickets, the cost is $15 per person. Space is limited.
