I choose to participate in the All-University Fund Drive because I love to give back to the university in any way I can. The drive is a great way to support students and university initiatives in multiple ways by filling out one form. You never know how your contribution can help a student to remain at OU, to get involved and connected, succeed in the classroom and most of all - to graduate. Margaret Mead said one of my favorite quotes: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” I may be a part of a small group, but through my donation I have the chance to impact the success of 19,000 students.
Typically, I choose a general gift fund as I know the funds can be used in any capacity. Each fund supports students or the university in a different way and it can be very difficult to choose one. I am simply happy that I have the chance to give back to a university that I love and that has given back to me.
