The ability to bring about world peace.
What is the weirdest gift you ever received?A very large, beaded necklace that resembled something Wilma Flintstone might wear… but my husband thought it looked like me.
What was your fist job?I was a hostess at McDonald’s, responsible for children’s birthday parties.
If you could tell your teenage-self one thing, what would it be?Don’t ignore the oil light on your dashboard.
What or who inspires you to give to AUFD?I give because I’m grateful… for the relationships I’ve developed with faculty, staff and former classmates at OU (and life-long friends); for the scholarship I received; for MY education!
What do you feel is the best part of the All-University Fund Drive? The part where our “collective” gifts make a difference. Don’t believe me? Talk to the student who is working their way through school and struggling to make ends meet –and just found out that they are the recipient of a scholarship. Speak with a professor who has been inspiring undergraduate researchers using antiquated equipment – and just found out a state-of-the-art (simulator, dance floor, computer, microscope, robot, instrument) was finally ordered! Tour one of the older buildings and ask yourself if this is the BEST we can do? If you believe, as I do, that education matters and SHOULD BE supported – then you’ll join me and take part in the AUFD!
