Golfers swing fore scholarships

The excessive heat didn’t scorch the fun at the OUAA Golf Challenge held on July 16. More than 110 golfers participated in the annual outing and raised $18,000 in support of the OUAA Scholarship Program. As an added bonus, the new Steve Sharf Clubhouse was open for everyone to enjoy before taking to the R&S Sharf Golf Course.

The success of the OUAA Golf Challenge year after year is attributed to community sponsors, as well as relationships that transcend the state line. “I have continued to participate in the golf outing not only because it adds funds to the OUAA Scholarship Program but because it also exposes others to the University. We had sponsors who traveled from Massachusetts, Illinois, New York and Colorado to play in the event this year,” said Tom Mittelbrun, SBA ’88, honorary golf outing chair.
