OU receives Telly Award for new television advertising campaign

After introducing its new advertising campaign, "Reach beyond the ordinary," Oakland University has done exactly that.

The university recently learned that it has won a bronze award in the 33rd Annual Telly Awards program. Among 11,000 entries from all 50 states and five countries, Oakland's new television commercial was honored in the local TV and cable category for schools, colleges and universities.

“We are very proud of the campaign and how it portrays Oakland University students,” said Lillian Lorenzi, Director of Constituent Communications at Oakland University. “We have received a great deal of positive feedback and are seeing good results in terms of response rates and inquiries.”

The award-winning TV commercial is one component of a campaign that includes digital advertising, radio, print, outdoor and website extensions. Campaign materials developed by Oakland University and Real Integrated, a communications and marketing firm headquartered in Bloomfield Hills.

"The campaign is particularly effective because it illustrates what is at the heart of the Oakland experience – namely exemplary academics and engaging student life that help cultivate the innovators and leaders of the next generation," said Gary Russi, Oakland University president.
