Downtown Rochester's Main Street now reopened to traffic

Progress has been made on downtown Rochester's Main Street reconstruction project. Main Street in Downtown Rochester has now reopened to traffic.

One travel lane northbound and one travel lane southbound are open, along with left turn lanes at Second and University Drive. University Drive is also open to traffic.

The full project began this spring and will affect areas ranging from the Clinton River Bridge to the Paint Creek Bridge. Third and Fourth street at Main will remain closed for the next few weeks.

Aside from road improvements, this project, dubbed the “Main Street Makeover,” will improve water service to the area and add streetscape improvements to enhance the overall downtown experience. The entire project is planned to be completed this fall.
